0:03 Interpreting Innovations 0:07 Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have all been impacted
0:12 and this caused a shift in the interpreting field.
0:16 At the same time, this shift has given birth to opportunity.
0:20 This opportunity to show our persistence and adaptability which includes evaluating new ideas and becoming more creative.
0:32 This creativity created opportunities using unique opportunities such as interpreting press conferences on the Zoom platform.
0:43 The demand for translation work has increased exponentially.
0:48 Interpreters were also able to primarily work from home.
0:51 When I reflect on all of these ideas manifesting throughout the year, I now feel strongly that RID can lead in promoting and fostering even more ideas relevant to our field.
1:06 We must actively support the passage of legislation that will aid in our efforts to adapt the field. Additionally, we can push for additional research and become more innovative in elevating the interpreting community as a whole.
